Yard Saints
RUBEN COMES NORTH
a night book of the return
William Vincent Carleton
The green country was sweet, but it was not home. Ruben the hummingbird loads his little belly again and flies the same invisible road in the other direction, over water and past new city glass. On the porch, Lúmine and Líam have already put out what he loves. When he complains about ants, they know it is Ruben. A Yard Saints night book of return and patient waiting.
