The Surprise Cuttings

A wooden crate arrives on the farmhouse step, holding cuttings from far-off orchards that want their older trees remembered. The children don't ask what they did to deserve it. They only ask where the cuttings will go. A quiet book about receiving a gift, best read with a pause at each handwritten name.
